William Rawlins along with Henry Reynard were charges with Sheep steeling the property of W Westbrook of Beaulieu on 27th March 1818. At Quarter Sessions on 3rd April 1818 they were committed to the County Gaol. They were later sentenced to death at their trial. This must have been commuted to 14 years transportation as both men were aboard the Hibernia. The above information gleamed from 2 Newspaper reports in Hampshire Telegraph and Naval chronicle 6th April 1818 page 4 & 20th July 1818 page 4.
