Crown Court 13 prisoners were tried, nine of whom were capitally convicted, and received sentence of death, viz.— John Field 18, and Read for stealing the dwelling house of Manas Blundell, of lfield, divers articles of wearing apparel. … The unhappy convicts were all reprieved before Judges left town. Sussex Advertiser, 28 March 1814.
