Ship Surgeon's Report: Good Van Diemens Land: Convict no. 58899 Recorded in Convict Conduct Record as "Roynan". 5'6"; 26yrs of age; read & write; married; Roman Catholic; tailor. Native Place: Country Roscommon, Ireland. Wife: Catherine Brothers: Patrick & Thomas Sister: Bridget Station Gang: Impression Bay, 21 mths. Emerged 21/05/1846. 23/06/1846: Roberts, Hobart - misconduct in representing himself falsely to be a tailor when being hired - 3mths imprisonment, hard labour. (Note: his conduct record definitely lists him as a tailor!) 03/07/1849: a Constable, Hobart - neglect of duty. 4 days solitary. 08/04/1851: Ticket of Leave 05/01/1854: TL/Constable - wilfully supress information in a case of Felony to defeat the prosecution. 2mths hard labour. 31/01/1854: Ticket of Leave revoked. 11/07/1854: Ticket of Leave restored. 01/08/1854: Conditional Pardon approved. 22/02/1881: Tried Launceston S.C. - Purjury. 12 mths imprisonment. Recorded under "Ryan" or "Royan".

John Regan was tried and convicted on 20/03/1844 at Roscommon, with Turman & Cooney, for appearing armed and attack the house of Audrey Gibbons, at night. 14 yr transportation sentence - to Van Diemens Land, on the 'Cadet' 1844 (others also onboard.)
