Tasmania Police Gazette, 15th Sept 1871, p150. Prisoner discharged from House of Correction, Launceston during the week ending 13 Sept 1871. John Regan from Port Arthur, per Neptune 1, tried at S.C. Hobart on 22 Jan 1867, for housebreaking, sentenced to 6 years, native place Cork, age 42yrs, 5 feet 8 inches high, brown hair. F.S., has very defective vision. Tasmania Police Gazette, 15th Sept 1871, p150. Discharged prisoner from Gaol, during the weeks ending 6 & 10 April 1872. At Launceston, John Regan, per Neptune, F.S., tried at Avoca on 6 Mar 1872 for idle & disorderly, served to 1 month, native of Cork, 43 yrs, 5 feet 7 inches, grey hair.
