City Sessions, Yesterday. Margaret Reilly and Eliza Browne were indicted for stealing several articles of wearing apparel, the property of Mrs. Caroline Maxwell. A servant identified the property, which was taken from Mrs. Maxwell's cottage, near Bray. Thomas Jones (209 B) stated that he arrested the prisoners, and found the property in a pawn office. Richard Morrissy stated that Margaret Reilly offered the articles in pawn. The other prisoner was in her company. Jane Pi? sworn: She saw Eliza Brown going up to the cottage, and return with a large bundle of clothes under her arm. Some other witnesses were examined to prove the Offence. The prisoners, were found guilty, and were to seven years transportation. Freeman’s Journal, 6 June 1839.
