Michael RENIHAN was tried and convicted at Waterford City 15/07/1845 for Larceny (steal a coat and waistcoat). 7 yr Transportation sentence. Sailed on the 'Samuel Boddington' voyage 263, departing Kingston, Ireland 23/09/1845 arriving van Diemens Land 18/01/1846. Prison Report: Orderly. Surgeon's Report: very well behaved. Married - wife Margaret BUTLER (later transported on 'Earl Grey' 1850 to VDL). Brothers: Pat, David, Hugh, William & Edward. Roman Catholic; can read; farm labourer; 5'3"; 22yrs; fresh complexion; dk brown hair; stout; hazel eyes. Native Place: Co. Tipperary. Colonial assignments & offences: Rocky Hills Probation Station Avoca Bridge R. Chandler, Morven (Evandale) De Little & Blyth, Launceston J. Macnamara. 16/05/1846: Absent without leave - 6mths hard labour in chains. 21/10/1847: Abscond from Avoca Bridge party - hard labour in chains. 14/01/1852: Misconduct & ill treat horse - 4mths hard labour. 24/07/1852: Free Certificate 10/02/1877: Larceny - 1wk imprisonment & hard labour.
