Richard Hockley was born in Cambridge and was transported for "Aiding a felon to escape" from Cambridge Gaol. Richard was 5'0 1/4"tall, fair complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, can read a little, protestant. Probation: Rocky Hills - 15 months 1/8/1848: TOL 20/3/1857: Free Certificate. 1859: Married Maria Toulton in Hobart. They had 1 daughter in 1859, Sarah Jane Hockley to married Henry Bradnock in 1877 in New Zealand. Found another 7 births for Maria and Richard in NZ, and a death for Maria Hockley in 1911 aged 78.
