Richard SHEA was convicted at Auckland, New Zealand on 9 May 1846 for insubordination - striking an officer in the Army. He had been in the 99th Regiment for 6 years. Richard gave his native place of birth as Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) but first served time on Norfolk Island.
