William Ridley was convicted at the CCC, London on 14 Sept 1840 for stealing handkerchiefs. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Mandarin' arriving 16 Oct 1843. Single; trade - a carpenter. Native place - Shoreditch, London. Apprenticed to Mr. Turnbull, Tea Tree, VDL. Free Certificate 25 May 1849.
