John Riley was convicted at Middlesex, London for a Felony, 12 April 1820. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Juliana' arriving 1820. (n.b. there are two John Riley's on this voyage). Stated he had two brothers on Drury Lane, London - horse dealers. 1 Jan 1825: abscond from Hobart Town. 25 lashes, but sentence remitted on orders of Col. Cameron.
