407 David Robb, Arrived 29 Dec 1844,  aged 22. Convicted at Bombay Ct. Ml.,  25 Nov 1843, sentenced to 7 years for Insubordination.  A protestant, he could read and write and was single.  Statement of offence: Threatening language and striking Serjt. McDonald,  b&w (bread & water) Desertion 20 days 78th Highlanders. Native place, nr Glasgow. 78th Highlanders, served in 72nd, for 2 years and 78th 2 years and 6 months. Trade, engineer, 3 yrs. Family, Father, John, Sister Jane, at N.P.
Ticket of Leave: 13 March 1849.
Free Cert: 2/12/1850

Tasmanian Marriage Permission
Permission was granted 10 July 1849, to David Robb, Tenasserim, to marry Susan Smith, free. Record says: Not married, - see letter from Mr Ewing dated 31 October 1849.
