Indent No; 1 Name; John Roberts ** 2 by same name on board ** Age; 25 Read & Write - Welsh. Protestant, Single Native Place; Anglesea Trade or calling; Ploughman, Shepherd Offence; Sheep Stealing Trial; Beau?? - 29 March 1830 - Life Height; 5 ft 7 1/4 in Assigned; Richard Clark, Hunters River Remarks; Hanged at Sydney ..........[very faint unable to read] ......Sept 1831 1831 - The Sydney Monitor. Wed 7 Sep 1831. Page 2. Domestic Intelligence. John Roberts was indicted for the wilful murder of James Mickelroy, at Patterson's Plains, on the 21st of June last. The prisoner being a Welshman, and unable to speak English, a Mrs. Somerville was sworn as an interpreter, and Mr. Rowe gratuitously defended him.
