Robert Roberts, (39), was put to the bar, charged with stealing on the night 16th or the 17th of December last, in this Cltv, sixteen fowls, the property of Mr. Thomas Smith Mulvey, the younger. Mr. Corbett stated the case for the prosecution, and called Thomas Smith Mulvey, son of Mr. Mulvey, ship-builder, in Crane-street, who proved the loss of the fowls from a shed in his father’s yard, on the night named in the indictment. Mr. Hill, conductor of the watch of this city, proved searching the house of the prisoner on Sunday morning the 18th December, and finding 16 fowls (14 hens and two cocks) and a basket, which he now produced.
