Beacon (Edinburgh) 21 July 1821 - Page 7 of 8 High Court of Justiciary John Robieson was then put to the bar, accused of eight different acts of theft, by means of opening lock-fast places committed in various houses in Edinburgh, Leith, and vicinity into which he had procured access under the pretence of taking lodgings. The Pannel pleaded guilty to the 6th and 8th charges in the indictment; and a jury having been chosen he adhered to his plea, and was found Guilty, in terms of his own confession, and sentenced to seven years transportation.
