NAME: HENRY ROBINS ALIAS: Richard Chegwidden AGE: 23 TRIED: 5 January 1847, Bodmin Quarter Sessions SENTENCE: 10 Years CRIME: Stealing a barn-door fowl, the property of Henry Williams jun. Henry Robbins, 22, pleaded guilty of stealing a piece of suet, the property of Richard Wellington. Criminal Register: Henry Robins, 22, born about 1825, tried 5 January 1847, Cornwall County Sessions for Larceny, Before convicted of Felony, 10 Years Transportation Sick List of the Eden: Folio 3 - Henry Robins, aged 23, exile; sick or hurt, cynanche; put on sick list 27 December 1848, discharged 4 January 1849 cured. THE ARGUS (Melbourne), 18 APRIL 1853 – NORTHERN CIRCUIT ASSIZES – CASTLEMAINE CRIMINAL COURT (Before His Honour Mr Justice Williams) Resumed Proceedings, Monday, April 11th, 1853 - Henry Robins stood indicted in that he, on 20th of March last, together with certain other persons, to the Attorney-General unknown, did make an assault on one Charles Wright, and thereby put him in bodily fear; and did feloniously and violently steal, take and carry away certain moneys from the aforesaid Charles Wright. – Sentences to 10 years hard labour the first two in irons. There were a number of references to 'a' Henry Robins for theft of monies from people around the Ballarat and Bendigo areas, carried out in the same manner, could not confirm it was this one though.
