On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Sydney Gazette, Sat 7 Jun 1817. -------------------------------------------------- Convicts who sailed on the 'Mary' direct from Ireland - 1819 & 1836 - are currently being listed, incomplete data to date.

Elizabeth Rodda was 38 years old on arrival in VDL. Elizabeth was married to Stephen Rodda, they had 4 children, all left behind at her native place of Penzance. Elizabeth was 5'6" tall, could read and write, blue eyes, brown hair, sallow complexion, large freckled hands. 8/10/1844: TOL 5/10/1847: CP 1840: Married George Emms (England 1832) 1842 Census: At Richmond 1849: At Launceston.

She received a pardon in 1847 for good conduct, this was under the condition that she was never to the United Kingdom. This was recorded in The Hobart Town Gazette on October 5, 1947
