City Calendar.— … Peter Rogers, burglary.…. Roscommon Journal, 5 Nov 1831. Peter Rogers was charged with having committed a burglary on the house of Michael Gahagan, at Stoneybatter, and stolen from it 200  copper halfpence. The house had been entered in the night by some persons, who in their retreat alarmed some of the neighbours, and were pursued. While the watchmen were in chase of one fellow, the (prisoner) was seen running off, and on being (apprehended) the money was found on him. He was found guilty of the stealing, but not of the (burglary). Dublin Morning Register, 3 Nov 1831.
