Bell ROONEY was convicted at Down, Ireland on 18 June 1845 for stealing money. Previous convictions. 10yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Tasmania' arriving 3 Dec 1845. Aged 28yrs; needlewoman; single; can read; Protestant. Native Place: Co. Down, Ireland. Sisters: Margaret; Anne & Maryanne - at Co. Down Assignments in Colony. Station Gang - Anson. 28 Sept 1846: Application for permission to marry - to Edward Frost. Approved. 25 Oct 1846: Married Edward (George) Frost at Campbell Town (Tas), both listed as house servants. (Ref. 37/1/5 500) 10 Sept 1850: Ticket of Leave granted. 10 Nov 1852: Conditional Pardon granted. 26 June 1855: Certificate of Freedom. Launceston.
