Owen Rooney was listed as 14 years old on arrival. Native Place: Leitrim County. Occupation: Cowboy Owen was literate, 4'10½" tall, pale fair complexion, light brown hair, hazel eyes, large dark mole outside right arm, scrofula marks under left jaw, small marks under right eye. Assigned to Carters Barracks. 19/12/1831: Sydney Herald: Tuesday. Dec. 13.-Owen Rooney, a rare broth of a boy, was charged with inserting his digits into the ogles of a Mistress Sharpnell, for her not taking so great a liking to him as he imagined his fine form might have demanded. The Bench sentenced him 25 lashes. 19/3/1832 Sydney Herald: Stephen Larkin and Owen Rooney, convicted of larceny, were sentenced to be transported for seven years each. Was transported to Norfolk Island. 19/3/1841: COF - 28 years old, date of birth:1813, 5'5½" tall, dark pale complexion, brown hair, dark grey eyes, a Tailor. 26/7/1843 Sydney Morning Herald: Owen Rooney, for being a rogue and vagabond, who has lately been frequently before the Bench, sentenced to fourteen days to goal. 10/11/1843: As above for 1 month. 20/12/1843 Sydney Morning Herald: Owen Rooney, for being illegally in the markets sent three months to gaol. 1854: Death listed on the NSW BDM - Owen Rooney died, aged 42.
