1832: Muster - he was assigned to Mr R Chapman (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-37$init=CON31-1-37p103). 1832, 26 October: He was sentenced in the Hobart Town Police Court to three nights' jail for drunkenness and being absent without leave (see The Tasmanian, Fri 2 Nov 1832, p7). 1833, 16 February: "Robert Ropper, for drunkenness and insolence, was returned to Government, and ordered to six months hard labor to Constitution Hill Road Party" (see The Tasmanian, 22 Feb 1833, p6). 1833: Muster - assigned to Public Works. 1835: Muster - assigned to Mr I Wyatt (see New South Wales and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849). 1838, 15 March: Robert Roppers received his Certificate of Freedom (see Cornwall Chronicle, Sat 10 Mar 1838, p36).


1832, July: On arrival in VDL, he was 33, single and listed as a groom. He said he had been transported for stealing a bundle of wearing apparel, and had a previous conviction for stealing a coat (17 weeks' jail) (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON18-1-6$init=CON18-1-6p164).


1831, 15 April: Robert Ropper, 33, was received aboard the Retribution hulk at Woolwich. He was sent from there for transportation on 24 March 1832 (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849).
