Tuesday the Assizes commenced at the County-Hall, when the following Prisoners were capitally convicted, viz: ... James Rose and Thomas Kilbury, for breaking open the house of Mary Rony, at Alverstoke, and stealing thereout nine pair of shoes, her property. -Death. Hampshire Chronicle, 7 March 1803.

Sydney Gazette, 1 July 1804 James Rose and Dennis Sullivan, two prisoners brought by the Coromandel, and sent on duty on board the Supply hulk, received a corporal punishment on Monday last, and were afterwards turned into the gaol gang, for attempting to break into the hold with intent to rob it.
