1832: On arrival in VDL, Hugh Ross was listed as 20, single and a groom (not hawker, as per his court record). He had a previous conviction for stealing money (60 days' jail). 1840, 13 July: Granted a Ticket of Leave. 1845, March: Conditional Pardon approved. 1846: Free Certificate No.271 received (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-37$init=CON31-1-37p91).
