Family: Brother - John & Sister - Ellen at native place (ref. Indent record) Service work in the Colony. Some notes of misconduct. Delivered of a child, stillborn, 19 Nov 1855. 14 April 1857: Ticket of Leave granted. 4 Aug 1857: Certificate of Freedom issued, at Oatlands, Tasmania.




Mary ROUGHAN was convicted at Co. Clare, Ireland on 1 July 1850 for house burning (circumstances and other persons not given). Not convicted before. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Blackfriar' arriving 29 May 1851. Ship surgeon's report: "very quiet". Aged 25yrs; single woman; housemaid; 4'11" height; dark complexion; black hair; grey eyes. Native place: Co. Clare.
