Margaret Rourke was tried and found guilty, for having had in her possession on the 27th October at Mitchelstown, a forged note of the Bank of Ireland. The account given the prisoner, after having been taken up, was, that she had got the note and another from a man of the name of Swiney, to pass, for which she was to be paid. Swiney is in custody.—Guilty, 14 years transportation. Southern Reporter, 3 April 1828.
