Convict Notes




A native of Cornwall, England, born 1813. Died on the journey to Tasmania. On 8 April 1834, Hannibal Rowe was found guilty in Cornwall Quarter Sessions of stealing money on 21 December 1833 from the home of William and Mary Harris of Camborne, Cornwall. He was sentenced to seven years' transportation and departed Portsmouth for Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania) on 29 September 1834. He died at sea on 10 December 1834, 43 days before the end of the voyage.
