ADM 101/58/7 1827 Medical and surgical journal of the Persian convict ship for 11 April to 10 August 1827 by James Patten MD, Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the said ship was employed in transporting female convicts from England to Van Diemen's Land. ADM 101/58/7/1 Folios 1-2: Elizabeth Rowley, [age not recorded], Convict; disease or hurt, pulmonary complaint. Put on sick list, found sick when the Surgeon joined at Woolwich, 11 April 1827. Discharged, 22 April 1827 but debilitated and still receiving some treatment. Suffered headaches and occasional cough for upwards of three months before coming on board and had been bled, leeched and blistered at various times. Was very debilitated, with a pain over the sternum and a cough.
