At Shrewsbury Assizes, the prisoners capitally convicted, were—J. Detheridge, for burglary Shiffnal; Eliz. and Martha Wheeler, for stealing in a shop at Shrewsbury; R. Morris and W. Evans, for committing various burglaries; F. Jeft, for sheep stealing; G. Rowley, for burglary ; E. Pugh, for stealing a mare; Jones, for stealing woollen cloth ; S. and Ridout, for stealing wearing apparel T. Southall, for stealing a mare; W. Williams, C. Robins, S. Dunn, and T. Humphreys, burglary ; J. Kendal and H. Milicamp, for stealing knives from the shop of Mrs. Shrewsbury, ; and Edwd. Potter alias ? for stealing twenty sheep at Church Pulverbatch—who severally received sentence of death, but were afterwards reprieved, with the exception of the last named, who is left for execution Saturday, the 4th of April. Hereford Journal, 1 April 1818. Assize Intelligence. ... At these Assizes, which ended on Monday on Monday week, … George Rowley, for burglary at Quatford; … were severally convicted and received sentence of death, but were all reprieved, except E. Potter. Manchester Mercury, 7 April 1818.

George Rowley was 20 years old when transported (cannot find crime). 8/9/1821: On list of prisoners victualled from H M Magazines. 19/2/1822: On lists of prisoners assigned. 7/8/1823: Absconded from Mr Oatley. 15/6/1824: convict runaway returned to Port Jackson from VDL pr 'Mermaid'. 9/7/1824: On list of prisoners transported to Port Macquarie per 'Lady Nelson" 27/2/1827: Absconded from the service of the Australian Agricultural Company, Port Stephens. George was 5'5" tall, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, dark sallow complexion. 27/4/1832: COF 2/7/1835: COF in lieu of CF 1832 25/8/1835: COF in lieu of CF 1832.
