John Russell, aged 20, was tried at the Old Bailey in London, the 4th December 1799, for Highway Robbery. At a place called Windmill Court, near Giltspur Street, upon James Howell aged 13 an errand boy to John Johnson, a watch-case-maker, he did make an assault, on the 2nd December 1799, putting the boy in fear of his life, and taking from his person a bag, value 9d. and six pair of silver watch-cases, value £3 10s, the property of the said, John Johnson. Transportation for life, aboard the Perseus and Coromandel. Departed England in January 18902, and landed at New South Wales on the 14th August 1802.
