Thursday George Ryan was examined before the Mayor, and committed for trial at the City Sessions, charged with having stolen a silver tea-spoon, the property of Mr. John Loveless, at Three Swans Inn. Salisbury Journal, 26 Aug 1805. The Sessions for this City were held at the Council Chamber, before the Mayor, the Law Recorder, and other Magistrates. George Ryan, indicted for stealing a silver tea-spoon from the Three Swans Inn, and also for stealing a linen waistcoat and muslin handkerchief from John Dear, an old man with whom lodged, was found guilty of the latter offence, and sentenced to be transported for seven years.
