Tasmanian Conduct Record. https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-34P260 100. John Ryan, (1) per Bencoolen & A. Cockburn, Tried Sept 1818, 7 years. Oct 7 1820. Stealing in the dw-ho of James Branner, 50 Lashes & Watch house at nights. April 3 1821. Neglect of Duty, to labor the same hours on the G.Gang for one week. June 18 1821. Appearing dirty at Muster to Church – to labor the same hours in the G. Gang for 1 week. Aug 18 1821, Breaking into Mr Broadrubbs Barn at New Town & stealing therein a chest containing sundry chisels & planes, the property of Jno. “Bisdie”, 50 Lashes & labor 12 mos in Gaol Gang. April 8 1824. P.W. Disorderly & fighting in Bathurst St yesterday afternoon & assaulting & beating Constable Musselwhite in the execution of his duty & escaping from his custody, 50 Lashes. 2 John Ryans' on this voyage - one stayed in NSW and this one transferred to VDL. John Ryan was 17 years old on arrival, his native place was County Kildare - crime not found. 16/9/1819: Transferred to VDL. John was 5' 3" tall, dark brown eyes, brown hair, much freckled. 3/7/1825: John drowned in the Macaquarie River.
