William was Prisoner No. 49/0986




There were 2 William Ryan's on this ship. William Ryan was 24 years old on arrival and was transported for "Grevious Assault". He was a "Convict Exile" having already served part of his sentence in Ireland. The Havering was the 2nd last ship to arrive in NSW and William was one of 330 men given their TOL on arrival. TOL Maitland. 21/11/1853: COF. After he received his COF his wife and daughter were allowed to join him, but he had to pay the full price of their passage £15, whereas all other migrants on the ship paid only £2. 1874: William drowned in the Cudgegong River near Gulgong.
