Convict Notes

Sainty & Johnson; 1828 Census of New South Wales: Page 228... [Ref L0016] Lack, Robert, 53, free by servitude, Canada, 1801, 7 years, Protestant, settler, Campbelltown, Airds. [Ref L0017] Lack, Elizabeth, 32, born in the colony. [Ref L0018] Lack, Robert Jun 4, born in the colony. [Ref L0019] Lack, Eliza, 2, born in the colony. [Ref L0020] Lack, Sarah, 3 months, born in the colony.

In the colony, Robert married Elizabeth Frazier (nèe Eggleton), 1826 at Campbelltown, New South Wales. Elizabeth was the widow of John Thomas Frazier who was the son of William Fraser (First Fleet Convict, Charlotte, 1788) and Eleanor Redchester (First Fleet Convict, Charlotte, 1788). Elizabeth herself was born in the colony, the daughter of William Eggleton (First Fleet Convict, Alexander, 1788) and Mary Dickenson (First Fleet Convict, Lady Penryhn, 1788). Robert and Elizabeth had 4 children between 1824 and 1831.

Robert was transported aboard the "Nile" which arrived December 14th 1801.

From my family research, I believe that this convict's surname is LACK, not SACK. He was transported on the ship 'Canada'.
