Convicted at CCC 15 June 1846 for stealing money from a person. Previous conviction for stealing pork. 10yr Transportation Sentence. Sent to VDL on the 'Rodney' arriving 19 Sep 1851, voyage 343. Convict no. 61994. Single man; 5'7", C of E; 25yrs of age; could read & write a little; trade - stonemason; black hair; brown eyes. Father - John or Joseph; Mother - Sarah; Brothers - William & Thomas; Sisters - Sarah & Susan. Conditional Pardon 17 July 1855. In 1873 he is recorded in the newspaper as living at Melville St. Hobart. Stonemason. Have not been able to locate a marriage or chilren. Died 22 Oct 1875 Hobart (Pioneer Index ref. 3070). Henry's brother, Thomas, was convicted of murder in London 1847 and subsequently executed. During Thomas' time in prison, he is recorded as writing a letter to parents and brother Henry. (The 2 daughters of Thomas came to Tasmania, with their mother Ann.)
