John SALTER, born Abt 1810 Witshire/Berkshire,England.Father Richard SALTER and Mother Sarah HAPPLEY(sic),from John's Death certificate.John SALTER & Ellen RYAN, both convicts applied to be married 24th June 1841. Permission was granted and they were married on 4th July 1841,by a Roman catholic Minister, Charles Lovat,in Yass.The witnesses to the marriage were Henry & Catherine Roberts. Both the Groom and Bride signed with their mark.




John SALTER & Bridget SHERIFF nee O'Halloran, Married 3 January 1864,Murrumburrah,New South Wales.No record of this. John & Bridget had three daughters: Sarah,born 27 November 1864,Cowal Creek,N.S.W. Catherine(Kate)born,Abt 1866 Ellen Jane,born 16 may 1869,Cunningham Creek,Murrumburrah,N.S.W.( My G/Grandmother) John died 20 July 1879,Burramundia near Young.His cause of death was Consumption. John is buried in an isolated lone grave at Two Mile Creek near Young.He was 64 years old.
