Family connections for Samuel (Taylor) are: TAYLOR John (Taylor) was born on 8 7 1773 at Normandy Yorkshire. He married Hannah (Harper). Hannah (Harper) was born in 1777. She died on 17 10 1849 age about72. John (Taylor) & Hannah (Harper) produced at least 1child: 1.Samuel (Taylor) was born on 26 6 1799 in London. He was tried w/2others for grand larceny, on 7 9 1818, stealing coat etc of Joseph (Quilliot) at Old Bailey on 15 9 1819, sentenced to 7years, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 29 3 1820 after a voyage of 4.5months on MANGLES; he was Protestant. On 11 5 1824 he was assigned to John (Campbell). Om 3 5 1827 he was appointed constable at Windsor. He married Mary (Brady) on 25 6 1828 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. He is recorded in 1828 as Free by Servitude a constable at Windsor with his wife. At some time he was an Innkeeper until the hotel licence was taken over by son in law Samuel (Armour). SAMUEL TAYLOR, JAMES HARRIS, FRANCIS KNIGHT, Theft > grand larceny, 15th September 1819. 1304. SAMUEL TAYLOR . JAMES HARRIS , and FRANCIS KNIGHT were indicted for stealing, on the 7th of September , one coat, value 2 s., and one key, value 6 d. , the property of Joseph Quilliot . JOSEPH QUILLIOT . I live at Newington. I lost my coat and key from Mr. Carter's garden, at Kingsland , where I was at work. It was afterwards brought to me. WILLIAM HUTT . I am a grocer, and live at Kingsland. I saw Harris go into Mr. Carter's garden, and take the coat - he came out and gave it to Taylor. Knight was with them. I had seen all three together before - they all three ran away. I went home and told my master. They were all three apprehended together about a quarter of an hour after; I had noticed them lurking about together for sometime before. JOHN BUMPSTEAD . I am a publican, and live at Kingsland. I saw the three prisoners run by my house, Taylor had the coat. I called Stop thief! and some brickmaker's stopped them. Taylor threw it down. (Property produced and sworn to.) TAYLOR'S Defence. I know nothing of it. I was throwing a stone, and accidentally hit a gentleman, he ran after me, and I was taken. TAYLOR - GUILTY . Aged 16.
