Family connections for Anthony (Sanders) are: SANDERS Anthony/Allen (Sanders) was born about 1788 & became a shoemaker. He was tried at Oxford Assizes, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 24 12 1818 after a voyage of 4months on HADLOW. He married Susannah (Herbert age16 her first marriage) on 23 4 1821 at St Lukes CofE Liverpool. He is recorded in 1828 as Free by Servitude with his wife shoemaker for John (Wood) at Bringley. He died, perhaps, before 1854. [Some details taken from this Website] Susannah (Herbert) was born on 7 11 1805 & baptised on 5 1 1806 at st Johns CofE Parramatta. She is recorded in 1828 as with her husband at Bringley. She married again in 1854. She died on 23 4 1857 age51. Details of Susannah (Herbert)s family are given in entry for John (Herbert CHARLOTTE 1788) on this Website. Sainty & Johnson; 1828 Census of New South Wales: Page 329…... [Ref S0072] Sanders, Anthony, 40, FS, Hadlow, 1818, 7, Shoemaker for John Wood, Bringley. [Ref S0073] Sanders, Susannah, 23, BC. Anthony must have died pre 1854, since Susannah married again, as a widow in that year.

In the colony, Anthony married Susannah Herbert in 1821. Susannah was the daughter of John Herbert (First Fleet Convict, 1788, "Charlotte") and Deborah Ellam (First Fleet Convict, 1788, "Prince of Wales") and was aged about 16 when married.
