Convicted of stealing two bottles of quicksilver from his master, William Golding, in concert with Joseph Priestly (Thomas Arbuthnot 1847), George James Saunders (Theresa to VDL 1845) and John Robinson (found not guilty). Sent first to Bermuda and then to VDL. Recorded as married in prison records, but indent shows unmarried but lived with Emma Watts.
