Thomas SARSFIELD was convicted at Westmeath, Ireland on 23 June 1841 for stealing one sheep. Gaol report: “very good”. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ship “Richard Webb” arriving 4 March 1842. Ship surgeon’s report: “good”.
Single man; aged 20 yrs; servant; 5’3 1/2” height; fresh complexion, freckled; dk brown hair; black eyes; can read; Roman Catholic.
Native place of birth: Galway, Ireland (ref. convict record)
