Thomas used the name Alexander Duncan & according to News articles found on Trove he change his name when coming to the colony as a Convict. Alexander also used the name Thomas on certain Birth Certificate of his children. Alexander/Thomas was hard to trace but another member of the family found that he had been jailed at the Richmond Gaol for Larceny or Vagrancy & it stated the details of his Transportation as a Convict to Van Diemen's Land.
