Matthew Saxon was 21 years old on arrival and was transported for ‘stealing lead from his master.’ Matthew was 5’7 ¼” tall, dark brown hair, grey eyes, married – wife Mary Ann and 1 child at Coventry. Birth dates listed were 1813, 1809, 1807. 1830-33 Musters: Assigned to Mr E Lutrell 1835 Muster: Constable. 6/6/1839: TOL 23/8/1843: CP 26/8/1845: CP extended to include all the Australian colonies. 1843: Married Eliza Pegram (Hindostan 1839) at Campbell Town – they had 3 children, William 1843, Matthew 4/8/1845 and Henry 1847. 3/11/1889: Mathew died of senility, listed as aged 82 and a shepherd. 14/9/1898: Eliza married George Branch (Layton 1839).
