On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. 1827, 15 June: George SCARFE – Certificate of Freedom#27/566 – per Mary 1, 1819; native place Wexford; labourer; tried Wexford, Summer 1817, seven years; born 1787; 5’7½”, dark complexion, black to grey hair, grey eyes. Notation: “Ticket of Leave No. 152/156 now surrendered and cancelled” (see New South Wales, Australia, Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1814, 1827-1867).


1825: George SCARFE – free by servitude – Mary 1819, labourer Wilberforce (see NSW and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849, New South Wales General muster M-Z-L 1825).


1819: George SCARFE 30, 5’8”, dark sallow complexion, black hair and hazel eyes (see NSW, Australia, Convict Indents, 1788-1842; Bound Indentures 1818-1819).


1822, 3 October: Ticket of Leave granted to George Scarfo, per Mary, according to the ToL Muster Roll, of 1827, when he was located at Wilberforce (see NSW Tickets of Leave, 1810-1869; Colonial secretary´s correspondence: Ticket of leave muster roll (NRS 906) Ticket of leave muster roll, 1827-1857).
