Their daughter Mary Scattergood married Thomas Triffitt whose parents, both convicts, were James Triffitt and Mary Higgins. Mary Higgins was transported on the Lady Julianna. These four, the two couples, met on Norfolk Island where they had been sent. Mary Scattergood, daughter of William and Jane, had a daughter out of wedlock by John Alsop, Susannah Mary Triffitt. After they were all subsequently relocated to Van Diemen's Land, Susanna married William John Isent Clark(e) and their children included Frederick George Edward Clarke, my great grandfather. Frederick's son, Langley Edward Clarke was at Gallipoli with the ANZACS. He was my grandfather. Pardon me, but I am proud of my ancestors.
