12th May 1841, Manchester - Arrested with his brother James Found guilty at Liverpool Assizes for "uttering a forged acceptance of a bill of surcharge with intent to defraud" 6th June 1841, Liverpool - First UK census shows address as Kirkdale Gaol. This was the holding prison for South Lancashire. 14th August 1841, Liverpool - Found guilty and sentenced at Liverpool Assizes. The jury took just twenty minutes to reach their verdict (source "Liverpool Mail" 21st August 1841). 15th Sept 1841, Portsmouth - transferred to prison hulk "Leviathan" located in Portsmouth Harbour. 26th March 1842, Portsmouth - departed Spithead on "Candahar". 20th July 1842, Hobart Town - arrived. 15th October 1850, Hobart Town - Conditional probation approved.
