Andrew Scott, alias Thomas Purdey, one of a desperate gang which has been a pest to the county of Derby for some time, was apprehended at Gainsborough last week by Mr. Newton, the keeper of the Derby Police-office. Stamford Mercury, 10 April 1812. At. Derby Assizes, Andrew Scott, alias Thomas Purdy, charged with being an accomplice in the burglary committed at the dwelling-house of Mr. Hunt, at Ockbrook, in December last, pleaded guilty, and received sentence of death, but was afterwards reprieved.
