Also, same day, from Cork, whence she sailed May 25th, the ship Andromeda, 401 tons, Benjamin Gales master, with 173 female prisoners; Henry Kelsawl, Esq., Surgeon-superintendant. Passengers — Fourteen free females, viz. Mary Manning, Martha Morron, Margaret Mahon, Margaret Sheedy, Mary Ann Nixon alias Welsh, Catherine Kiernan, Mary Cassock, Catherine Stanton, Johanna Neville, Mary Lyons alias Hynes, Maria Moran, Catherine O'Donnel, Margaret Kennedy, and Mary Sullivan, and twenty-six children; also twenty-three children belonging to the prisoners. From Co Tyrone Ireland single protestant who could read. Sallow pitted complexion brown hair and eyes. Note certs 39/1345 and 40/1385 Margaret Scott in the New South Wales, Australia, Settler and Convict Lists, 1787-1834. Sent to the female factory New South Wales, Australia, Tickets of Leave, 11/7/1839 no 39/1345 for Margaret Scott. Allowed to stay in the Windsor area New South Wales, Australia, Gaol Description and Entrance Books, 1818-1930 for Margaret Scott 27/12/1839 Barracks Windsor New South Wales, Australia, Certificates of Freedom, 22/8/1840 cert no 40/1385 Commercial Journal and Advertiser (Sydney, NSW : 1835 - 1840) View title info Sat 1 Feb 1840 Page 3 POLICE OFFICE. Margaret Scott, holding a ticket of-leave for Windsor, was brought before their Worships by warrant, from Parramatta, charged with being at large from her district, without a pass. The Bench perceiving by the date of the warrant, that the prisoner had been confined in Parramatta gaol since the 27th December; (a period of 28 days) waiting to be forwarded to her district, admonished and discharged her.
