William SCOTT was convicted at Middlesex Gaol on 1 Dec 1831 for stealing - money, jewellery & seal. Death sentence commuted to Life transportation. His defence was that he had been drinking and knew nothing about it. Hulk report: good. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship "Lord Wm Bentinck" arriving 29 Aug 1832. Aged 36 yrs; single man; a seaman; 5'5" height; sallow complexion; brown hair; lt blue eyes; tatoos.
