Offence: Theft > mail theft Verdict: Guilty > no_subcategory Punishment: Transportation WALTER SCRIVENER , stealing whilst employed in the Post-office a letter containing 2 half-sovereigns, and 24 postage stamps; the property of Her Majesty's Postmaster General: to which he pleaded GUILTY . Aged 21.— Transported for Ten Years. Walter was 5'6" tall, light hair, blue eyes, round face, fresh complexion, healthy build, E. F on?, single, literate, protestant. 18/7/1853: TOL 30/7/1855: CP 11/10/1855: Married Rhoda Spencer at Fremantle. (Rhoda born 21/12/1837 Swan River Colony and died 1914 in Prahran, Victoria). First child, Frances Rose was born in WA. Next 4 born in NSW & last 4 in Victoria.
