Aug 5. - Arrived the barque Nereus, Capt. Allen, from Port Louis 24th June, with 2288 bags sugar, and 3 cases stationery. Passengers - J Duncan, Esq., G Greenaway, Esq. and Lady, and 2 prisoners. Arrived per Nereus, 6 Aug 1831. Being drunk on duty & threatening to assault the corporal of the Guard while on duty in a state of drunkenness. Single. March 16 1832. Drunkenness – One month impt & hard labor. Jan 7 1836.- Absconding – hard labor in chains for 4 months. At Cousten?Hill, Vide Lieut. Govn’s Decision 14 Jan 1836. June 21 1837, Out after hours. ? Feb 28 1839, Absent without leave & found in a public house, Reprimanded. T.L. 2/12/39. Nov 24 1840. Being in town without a pass, Discharged. Hobart Town Courier, 29 Oct 1837. Dennis Sessna was transferred from A McMillan, to be assigned to Askin Morrison. -------------------------------------------------- Caution. The undersigned hereby cautions the Public against harbouring or employing Dennis Sessna, (an emancipist,) who has broken his agreement entered into with me, as a whaler; as any one so doing after this notice, will be subject to the penalties of the Whaling Act.
