George SEVERN was convicted at London April 1819 for having forged bank notes in his possession. 14 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Dromedary' arriving Jan 1820. Aged 20yrs; an optician; 5'5 1/2"; brown hair; Hazel eyes; native place - London. VDL Conduct Record: clear, no offences. Conditional Pardon no. 267 on 15 Aug 1831. Free Certificate no. 656 in 1839. (n.b. there are two convicts named George Severn in VDL at the time)
