William & John SEWELL were convicted at Huntingdon, England for housebreaking. Previous two convictions for Games offences - poaching. Each received a Life sentence and both transported to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ship ‘Clyde’ arriving 18 Dec 1830. Aged 24yrs; single; ploughman. Place of birth: Great Stordon, Huntingdon, England. Brother: John SEWELL (also transported to VDL) VDL: Some records of misconduct and punishments. 2 March 1831: Stealing. 2 yrs imprisonment. 1836: at Campbell Town, VDL. 1839: at Morven (Evandale) 1840: at Launceston 1840: at Campbell Town, VDL. Ticket of Leave granted. Conditional Pardon approved, July 1843.
